| The 18th International Famous Furniture Fair (Dongguan) will be held on 17-21 August in Guangdong Modern International Exhibition Center (Hall 1-7), Houjie, Dongguan. Thousands of furniture products will be exhibited here by over 500 exhibitors from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and foreign countries, covering modern veneer furniture, classical furniture, upholstered furniture, wooden and rattan furniture, metal glass furniture, lighting & craft furniture, woodworking machinery and raw supplementary material, etc. Meanwhile, the Organizing Committee will hold a variety of wonderful activities, such as the Prize-Giving of Item on Display, Expert Forum, “Dongguan Night Purchasing Party”, Famous Furniture Design Competition, etc.
1. All-out to create export hall to realize the win-win for buyers and sellers
For many years, Hall 1 of 3F has become a mature export-oriented hall. Classical furniture enterprises including Yuhuan and other excellent domestic furniture enterprises have established good images in the eyes of overseas purchasers, especially those from Middle East. Apart from that, the export volumes of many exhibitors in Hall 2 are constantly increasing. With the increasing promotion of export achievements, people see the boosting of market demand and the business potential of both domestic and foreign markets. At a matter of fact, the establishment of Export Hall is imperative under the situation!
What’s more, domestic and foreign purchasers indicate that they hope to purchase furniture after their hearts’ content as well as more high quality furniture ornaments from the 3F. Therefore, taking the opportunity of the expansion of the fair area, the Organizing Committee will plot out an area of 15,000 square meters of Hall 2 for Home Furnishings, which will form a perfect export supporting area together with the present modern and upholstered furniture sections. Through all kinds of measures, the Organizing Committee will build Hall 1 and Hall 2 into export halls.
The decisions and measures made by the Organizing Committee have enhanced the confidence of exhibitors, and the exhibiting booths of this fair have thereby gone in lack.
2. Dongguan Night Purchasing Party
In order to strengthen information exchanging and cooperation of the global furniture industry, and to establish direct and efficient contact between Chinese furniture suppliers and occidental furniture purchasers, the American authoritative furniture medium—Furniture Today will cooperate with the Organizing Committee of the International Famous Furniture Fair to hold a cocktail party —“Dongguan Night Purchasing Party” at 18:00-20:30, August 17, 2007 at Hall 3. the attendees are mainly the powerful overseas furniture purchasers and top Chinese furniture suppliers. This event is the first one that Furniture Today holds out of America.
Taking advantage of its strong industry influence, Furniture Today has invited many large purchasers in the American market to participate in the “Dongguan Night Purchasing Party”. This attracts the overseas buyers and receives active response from many buyers who hope to find long-term excellent suppliers in China. At home, many exhibitors of the 3F have known it earlier and are expecting for the event. Besides, some non-exhibitor furniture enterprises also inquire relevant information from the Organizing Committee.
The Organizing Committee of the Famous Furniture Fair and the American authoritative journal—Furniture Today will secure the sodality—“Night of Dongguan”, which makes insiders on the tiptoe of expectation.
Besides, the organizer will hold the event with a profounder way. After the “Night of Dongguan” during the night of the first day, a “Global Furniture Trade Pinnacle Forum” will be held in March 18 for the major world furniture market. During the forum, Vice president Kevin of Furniture Today, the President Takayoshi Nagashima of Japan’s Home Living, and authorities of Europe and Middle East markets will be invited.
3. Service improvement
In order to provide a better exchanging platform for both exhibitors and visitors, the Organizing Committee is incessantly improving service in terms of hardware and software. It improves the supporting equipments of the hall to facilitate visitors; and perfects the fair implementation plan, making greater efforts to select and train service staff to advance service.
The Organizing Committee will build a permanent Check-in Hall on one side of Hall 4. The Check-in Hall will take an area of 1,000 square meters, with check-in counter, VIP room, luggage keeping, on-site office and W.C. Meanwhile, shuttles from Hall 1 and Hall 2 and appointed hotels will have their “pick-up and drop-off stations" at the gate of the Check-in Hall, which will shorten the attendees’ visit. However, the Long-distance Bus Station , City Bus Station and Traffic Information Counter are all set in the parking lot on one side of the Check-in hall.
The News Center providing service for media in terms of relevant news and interviews of the fair will be moved to a more tranquil and spacious place -- the conference area of the second floor of Hall 3. In this area, a VIP Lounge will be added to provide important domestic and foreign attendees with reception, rest, surfing and the information about the fair.
As for volunteer workers of each service department of the fair, the Organizing Committee will mainly choose college students majoring in exhibition and relevant specialties, so as to improve the service quality.
The increasingly powerful Chinese furniture industry and the increasingly large demand of Chinese furniture of international market call for a mature international furniture fair, which will present a more favorable communication platform for both domestic and foreign furniture industry.
